Eating for 2?

Pregnant women need more calories and essential nutrients than other women. The body needs an additional 300 calories each day to support the growth of the baby.  Some of the essential nutrients that are most important include protein, folate, calcium, and iron.

Nutrition upgrade opportunity:  Instead of getting those extra 300 calories through sugar try some of these great snacks: Greek yogurt with banana, honey, and nuts, or a glass of lowfat milk with a half of a turkey sandwich.
